Our memberships for the 2024-25 are listed below. If you’re unsure about which membership is right for you, feel free to contact a committee member here.

Taster Sessions

You don’t have to commit yourself to a full membership immediately. You can attend any of our Beginner or Experienced fencing sessions free of charge during the first two weeks of Michaelmas term to see if it’s for you! If you are joining later on in the year, please come along to try two sessions free of charge before buying your membership. Please find the session timetable here.

Payment & Bursaires

Membership payments are handled via bank transfer. If you have any issues, please don’t hesitate to contact the treasurer here.

Discounted membership prices are available for students who are able to prove that they are a recipient of certain university means-assessed bursaries. Please contact the treasurer, here, for further information.

Mailing Lists

When signing up at the start of Michaelmas, you will automatically be added to the relevant mailing list by submitting the club registration form. If you join later on in the year or suspect you haven’t been added, please click here to join the mailing list.

Memberships

  • Cambridge University Fencing Club Beginner Membership

    Beginner

    £200 /year | £85 /term

    For new fencers with little to no prior experience. More information available here.

    Includes:
    • Two coached fencing sessions per week
    • Invitation to club socials & annual dinners
    • Invitation to beginner-only socials
    • Opportunity to participate in College Cuppers
    • Opportunity to participate in Novice Varsity
    • Access to club kit

  • Cambridge University Fencing Club Intermediate Membership

    Intermediate

    £175 /year | £70 /term

    For Cambridge University students with over one year of experience.

    Includes:
    • Two open fencing sessions per week
    • Invitation to club socials & annual dinners
    • Opportunity to participate in College Cuppers
    • Access to club kit

  • Cambridge University Fencing Club Team Membership

    Team

    £225 /year | £75 /term

    For Cambridge University students invited to be part of the club’s Blues or Seconds teams.

    Includes:
    • Two open fencing sessions per week
    • Two team training sessions per week
    • Invitation to club socials & annual dinners
    • Opportunity to represent Cambridge at BUCS, Varsity and other competitions
    • Opportunity to participate in College Cuppers
    • Access to club kit

  • Cambridge University Fencing Club External Membership

    External

    £200 /year | £75 /term

    For experienced fencers with no affiliation with Cambridge University.

    Includes:
    • Two open fencing sessions per week
    • Invitation to club socials & annual dinners
    • Opportunity to participate in College Cuppers
    • Access to club kit

  • Cambridge University Fencing Club Alumni / University Staff Membership

    Alumni / University Staff

    £190 /year | £70 /term

    For experienced fencers currently employed by or have previously studied at Cambridge University.

    Includes:
    • Two open fencing sessions per week
    • Invitation to club socials & annual dinners
    • Opportunity to participate in College Cuppers
    • Access to club kit
